Let's Name Her Fiona

Today we woke up late again and Morgan and I went down by the Arno to lay out. We walked all the way down on our side and then crossed over and found this really weird market with African and Native American looking stuff and people. We found the good lay out spot by the waterfall. It was so incredibly peaceful with the sound of the rushing water and everything. After we were there for about an hour, we went to the internet café for our fix and walked by the House of Sizzle. We were so hungry so we called the other girls to see if they wanted to come eat with us. They told us to come home and have a snack so we decided to walk to the place on the Ponte Vecchio and have gelato. I got lemon gelato and it was really good, but not satisfying at all. We went back to the apartment and finally everyone was ready to go eat! We went to House of Sizzle and met our friend Francesco again. I had fried mozzarella which is NOT mozzarella sticks because that is what I wanted and what I got was some weird fried cheese. I also had a chicken burger with bacon and fries with RANCH. It was delicious! We also decided to name my purse “Fiona” after the ogre in Shrek because she is green. Morgan and I wanted to go wallet shopping so we headed over to Ponte Vecchio after dinner while everyone else went to the internet café. Instead of finding wallets (for no more than 25 euro which was our deal) we found purses for 25 euro! The guy originally wanted 50 euro for 1 purse but we got him down to 50 euro for 2. We got the same purse just in different colors, mine is black, hers is brown. I think they are really cute and I took it out at night and it is also a good going out purse! Supposedly, they are “Fendi” (definitely fake) but what was fun was that I was looking in one of our gossip magazines later and found the real purse that looks just like ours in it! We started to walk towards home on the Ponte Vecchio and some guy comes up with a huge thing of string and grabs my hand and starts to make this bracelet thing. I kept saying I didn’t want it and that I didn’t know what it was but he said it’s ok, it’s ok you’ll see. He made this really ugly bracelet and told me I couldn’t take it off for 25 days or I would have bad luck. Morgan decided she wanted one too so he started to make her one and that’s when Katie and Crystal showed up. The guy’s friend started to make Crystal one and then Mami made Katie one. After he was making Katie’s, he did the spin around thing and pointed at his cheek, and she figured if she kissed his cheek, she wouldn’t have to pay him, so she goes to kiss his cheek, and he turns his face AND KISSES HER ON THE LIPS. It was sick because he looked so dirty. Then he started to tell us to pay him 3 euro for each bracelet and I told him absolutely not because I didn’t want the bracelet in the first place. I told him to take it back and he said he wouldn’t cut it off and give me bad luck and I said I would cut it off myself and he wouldn’t give me the scissors to do so. We ended up giving him maybe 1,50 euro or something but he shouldn’t have gotten a penny. The mood was slightly killed by the kissing event so we started to head home. We sat around for awhile and decided to start drinking and head out since we don’t have school on Monday. Crystal wanted to see the boy she met last night again so we all decided to go out in support of that. After a few drinks, we decided to go to Red Garter and have a few drinks before going to Slowly. Crystal wanted to leave so her and Kristi went to meet Santo (whose name we didn’t know until the end of the night!). The other four of us stayed at Red Garter and these obnoxious Marines would not stop coming and talking to us. This one kept asking if we wanted to come sit at their table and I asked if they would be buying us drinks and he told me that he didn’t even buy drinks unless he knew the girl for a week. I told him that wasn’t how it worked in Ohio, maybe that’s how they do it in Florida and eventually we got him to leave us alone. We also met these other Italians who decided to follow us to Slowly when we told them we were leaving. They were so weird the whole walk over there and finally left before we got there which was good. Slowly was a cool place, but kind of uppity. We didn’t stay too long and decided to come back home but Crystal’s boy is good looking and charming. Kristi stayed with her so we didn’t have to leave her alone. I’m excited for tomorrow because we have another day with no school!
