So my accomodation included 'breakfast' which was a custard filled croissant and a cream sponge finger - rather unusual to me, but perhaps quite a common breakfast for the Milanese! I opted to wait and have breakfast at the airport, although the closest thing I could find there was a ham and cheese roll!
I tried to pre-book more luggage online, however it was 60 Euros for 6kg extra, and I had more like 10kg, so I figured that it'd be cheaper to pay the 40 GBP (or equivalent) at the gate! However, of course the lady at the check in desk noticed that I had an extra bag of hand luggage and insisted that I check it in as extra baggage (it was 12 kg), she said I could take some things out and put them into my other bag, I managed to take out 2kg so I had 10kg to check in and the lady only charged me for 8kg (which was nice of her) but it still cost me 90 Euro!
After an expensive check in, things went smoothly - I find it strange that Easyjet doesn't have assigned seating though! I ended up sitting next to a nice couple who were from Edinburgh and chatted a bit with them. The flight was only 2 hours but felt much longer as my head cold caused my ears to pop (quite painfully!) for most of the flight.
After hearing that Edinburgh airport is infamous for taking forever to get the baggage out onto carousels I was very pleasantly surprised when both of mine came out within 6 minutes!! I caught the bus from the Airport to Ferry Toll, and then a coach from Ferry Toll to the Kinross 'Park n Ride' where my friend Susans' mum picked me up and took me back to her place for a bit until Susans' husband Ian got home from work. Susan and Ian have made me feel so welcome - it's like I have a home away from home, I have my own room, and Susan even cleared out cupboard and drawer space for me, so nice. Susan and my mum have been best friends for years and years, and it makes me feel closer to mum being here :)
