Welcome to the US

After an over night flight we arrived at LAX to face the fabled US immigration... Firstly, we got sent back to add more information to the form and then the fun really started. Dave was all through but then they couldn't enter me in as the link was going funny and someone I'd never seen before had opened my account... then my finger prints wouldn't enter. Thinking that was all sorted I was let through to join Dave at the luggage carousel. But, I was then called back as there was a mismatch with my finger prints. Again it was a link problem and someone else had been entered in wih my prints, so I got sent along to the supervisor to sort it all out! I was definetly making friends with all of US immigration that morning...

Then we went to get our hire car - I let Dave spoil himself so we're now cruising around in a Mitsubishi Spyder (a baby little convertible). We're halfway down highway 1 staying in a motel in a cute little fishing village having spent last night in Santa Monica, where I persuaded Dave to do a little shopping. After 3 months trekking around South America I'm now the proud owner of a dress and am throughly enjoying being feminine again! It's amazing how nice it is to have something new and different after 3 months trekking with a 'capsule' wardrobe.

The route is beautiful and we're hitting the road again tomorrow morning (gotto keep moving after all).
