So this is just a mega quick update to let everyone know i'm still alive and having fun, i just have no free wifi in my hostel which means i can't afford to be on here blogging everyday!
Things have been pretty chilled since i arrived as i'm looking to spend a month here so don't need to rush into seeing everything.
Cairns is a nice wee town, everything you need is in walking distance so i've pretty much been spending my days floating around, going to the lagoon (which is like a pool/man-made beach as they don't have a real one here, and theres are crocs in the water) and COOKING! I was happy to have my own kitchen again as in Asia i always had to eat out and it does actually get boring after a while when you just want to cook some pasta. After the first 3 days of pretty bad rain (ok, nonstop pissing it down) it's now back to normal and around 30 degrees everyday :) so i'm trying to gradually get a tan, since up until now all i've done is duck into the shadows avoiding all direct sunlight!
So anyway, ideal scenario to stay here a month if i get a job (as the exchange rate with the pound is so shit my money is swallowed up here) which is harder than i thought as alot of places just say no to backpackers as we're so unreliable and leave after a few weeks. It would be good though as it means i wouldn't need to work again til January. If not i'll be heading to Sydney sooner than later to get something before Christmas.
I'll get some photographs up just as soon as i get some cheap internet sorted..i think i'm going to have to give in and buy a dongle haha!
