A moose is like an even more massive deer, I am talking HUGE! The males have wide, flat, branched antlers but the females don't seem to have any. They have long moosey faces. What I didn't know about moose is that they are water animals. They graze among the beaver ponds and swim down up to 18 feet deep to feed.
I have two best moose encounters (I couldn't choose). One is watching a female moose wade, feeding in a flooded meadow whilst her calf stood bambi-like at the edge, all long legs and small body, before lolloping down into the grass to go to sleep.
The other happened when we walked out into a sage bush field at the edge of our campsite in the Grand Tetons to watch the sunset. It was a lovely sight as the sky turned pink and orange around the spiky mountain tops and we were both glued to the view. A small noise made me glance behind and there was the world's largest male moose, with huge antlers, just strolling past behind us, only feet away. Wow! Needless to say, we kept extremely still until he had passed!
