Autumn 2011; The colours
of Burlington
Well autumn is well and truly upon us, the leaves are
rapidly changing colour and falling off the trees as well the temperature has
taken a dive, getting down to about 3 degrees on occasion. Chelle has also
heard a rumour that snow has already fallen in the Northern parts of Algonquin
Park, the next stop on our adventures.
Along with the return of Autumn, Halloween is only just
around the corner, so pumpkins are out in abundance and some houses already
have them on display. I intend to go out and buy ours sometime this week and
start on the carving (there goes another two fingers). It is funny when you
talk to the locals about pumpkins; pumpkin is something you make deserts out
of, pumpkin pie and the ones you carve you wouldn’t eat. But pumpkin soup is
made from squash or more particularly butternut squash, what we would call
butternut pumpkin.
So to go with this blog there is a selection of early
Halloween photos and local Fall colours.
Enjoy,
Ken
