National Geographic scholarship 2011 entry

This photograph was taking from a hand built wooden tower that peered over larger than life size welded sculptures. Looking down upon these sculptures the people appeared looking in awe and amazement at the mere size of this artistic feat.

This photograph was taking from a hand built wooden tower that peered over larger than life size welded sculptures. Looking down upon these sculptures the people appeared looking in awe and amazement at the mere size of this artistic feat.

This large scale sculpture rose towards the heavens. As the sun appeared the position of the sculpture gave the impression it was saluting the sun. Again when the sun set and the moon rose the sculpture was facing her hands to the glow of the moon.

This is the centre piece for an art festival that is held once a year in the Nevada desert of black rock. It is like an art gallery in the desert. This is a sunset shot showing the cool change coming and the last bit of glow highlighting the mountain side.
