Chinese cake shops

CHINA | Tuesday, 2 October 2007 | Views [726] | Comments [1]

I popped into a cake shop today to buy something quick to eat. Just pick something up that looks good, pay and I'm all sorted I thought. As I was browsing the cake labels (with only Mandarin characters on) I noticed that many of the buns had meat in them. Then I also saw a few that were labeled with the dog character followed by the meat character 狗肉. Just as I entered the shop I passed a European guy leaving with a bun, I hope he read the label before he decided what to buy.

I decided to go for a bun without meat in.

In case you want to know, cat is quite similar to dog in Mandarin except it looks hairier.
Cat: 猫
Dog: 狗

Like it Geezer!

Should be entertaining as you head on home.

Btw, is that a typo in the name of your blog?
