The Cotswolds

UNITED KINGDOM | Tuesday, 5 June 2007 | Views [888]

We headed off the next day after a bit more supply shopping, to Cheltenham for the first festival. Our route took us right through the Cotswolds and gave us a healthy fix for our old stone building addiction. Every scene is a postcard and the buildings and dry stone walls just gorgeous.

We stopped off at the Rollright stones, one of the many ancient sites we’ll be hoping to get to. It was a cold miserable day but the stones were spectacular. They different to others we’ve seen being pitted and covered in mosses and lichens, some alledgedly 400-600 years old. The stone construction itself being 10x that age.
