Day 146 - 24th August 2016 Wednesday – Another Pool Day

VIETNAM | Thursday, 25 August 2016 | Views [614]

It rained most of the night and so Kevin cancelled his ride with Michael and Andrew. I went to the gym and pool like most days. Unfortunately I am still quite sore and stiff from my bike ride and so I only ran for 20min and not 30min. I am considering a massage this afternoon. Kevin came into the gym and was frightened off by the number of people – 3 and turned around and walked out. The weather has cleared and it is sunny and 33C but feels like 42C. Kevin went back to the gym after lunch for a brief session before heading home via his coffee shop at 2ish. I stayed until 3pm and then rushed home for a quick change and then off to 5 Senses for a massage. They were unable to get any of their regular girls to come and do it so I had to have a massage from No Six, a young girl who helps out. The massage wasn't as good as last weeks and I know I am going to be sore tomorrow in a few spots. After this I went and changed some money before wondering around a few streets just looking. I bought a top and a pair of white knee length pants. Cost VND 300k. Local price. I then stopped in at the glasses place to see if they had any new frames in my size. They were able to find a few and so I decided on a new pair of glasses, progressive lenses and transitional. Again local price quoted US$200 or VND 4.2m or $250. Not bad when at home My out of pocket expenses are much higher.  got home just after 6pm and the rain still hadn't come so we decided to go to Baba’s Indian for dinner. Kevin came on the scooter with me. Kevin ordered a kebab which came out green coloured and he said it was the best chicken he has ever tasted, while I had chicken korma. By the time we finished it had started to rain and so we donned  the rain coats and dashed home. Remarkably we were reasonably dry.
