I met Monika, Narelle and Megan (a girl from Melbourne who has been living here 12 months teaching English at Fusion Mia Resort near Danang) at AnHoi at 7.00am and we went for a 28km, 3 hour bike ride around Cam Kim. Monika called it a discovery tour as she was looking for a different way back to HoiAn and so we went down many new roads that were dead ends. Megan did the same TESOL course that I did with ATA Australia and we did 4 subjects the same. We are going to swap notes on another one. I had to leave as they went for breakfast to the soup & op la place. I was meeting at Dingo Deli at 10.30am with Graeme Burn from Children's Education Foundation (CEF) to talk about opportunities to help out with TESOL. He is leaving VN at the end of May and wants me to take over the work he is doing with 3 Vietnamese staff on pronunciation. I arranged to meet up next Thursday to observe him with the class. We spoke about the Foundation and the work Linda his wife does with the kids. He told me they have 220 kids they are funding education for at present. I asked him about the safe swim day I have volunteered for at the end of May and he briefly explained the concept. Kevin had ridden with Michael and Andrew on a sprint to Marble Mountain and he said they nearly killed him with the pace they kept up. He said that he dropped behind at Cua Dai going through the local people before hitting the highway and was 100m behind all the way. On the way back he kept up until the AnBang turn off and then they sprinted leaving him behind to the coffee shop. When I got home before going to Dingo Deli he was laying in the air conditioning recuperating. Kevin decide to head to the beach for the afternoon while I stayed home and did some study. Talking to Megan this morning motivated me to try and do some more of the assignments. Late father on it started raining and Kevin said he wanted a pizza from Good Morning Vietnam and when I said come on he said he was now going to Hoe Hien as he didn't end to get wet. Kevin went on his own with the umbrella while I stayed home.
