Day 31 – 1st May 2016 Sunday – Victoria Hotel Buffett luncheon

VIETNAM | Monday, 2 May 2016 | Views [241]

Kevin went riding to Marble Mountain and had his best time ever, cutting 15min off his original times. I decided to ride to the big bridge at Cam Thanh and then back to Cua Dai Road, then to BaLe Market and back through Cam Thanh to Red Bridge Road  and home. A ride of 17km which took 50minutes. When I got back I hung out the washing, cleaned the bathroom of the mound that was starting to appear on the walls. We headed to the Victoria Hotel at 10.30 to set ourselves up by the pool before the Buffett lunch. Monika, JA, Susie and Leonard were already there in the best shady spots. It is a hot, clear day in paradise. We set ourselves up and got a spot for Narelle as well. We soon were in the pool and I must say it was lovely. By 11.30 we were all sitting outside with our beer or champagne depending on which drink package you were going to have. We both went for the beer option. Cost VND 566k a head. The spread was fantastic. I started with seafood, prawns, oysters with salads  while Kevin went straight for the hot roast beef and ham with mashed potato. My second plate was similar to the first while Kevin went for BBQ Pork sausages, bacon and veggies. My third plate was cheese and nibbles while Kevin hit the sweets. My fourth plate was roast beef and ham with lovely gravies while Kevin went again for the sweets. Disaster struck, a crown on one of my back teeth came out.  It was the same one that did the same 6 months ago. The glue must be weak for it to happen again.  Well dentist tomorrow. It is now time for a rest and a swim. When I came back I had some sweets and some more cheeses. I had managed to spread out the eating until 2.30 and was then done. I was now on the soda water. At 3pm we all were back around by the pool. We stayed until 4.45 and I gave Narelle a ride back to her Hotel while Kevin rode his bike home. It was an early night as we didn't  need any dinner.
