We were up and on the road just after 6.30am to meet Monika and Jean-Ann for our morning bike ride. Today we headed out behind the Herb Village Tra Que through Cam Ha zig zagging through the rice fields and cattle. It was an enjoyable ride which ended at An Bang where we stopped at a café for breakfast. I had Pho Bo and Kevin had bacon and eggs. He then decided he wanted a banana pancake as well. Hayley and her 2 daughters, Bella and Amellia came past on their scooter and Monika called them into the café where they ordered some food. We all then went to Soul Kitchen for a swim. It is getting hotter again. I left around lunch time and Kevin stayed until 3ish. Our ride was 24.3km this morning. I lazed around watching TV series. We headed into town around 5pm to change money at the gold shop and then on to meet Monika and Jean-Ann at Nu Eatery. We left our wheels at the River near the stairs and walked along the Riverfront through the market. There are definitely more tourists around as they were everywhere and in particular on the Japanese Bridge. Even on An Hoi there are more people at the restaurants. We arrived at the same time as the girls and headed upstairs to the outdoor seating area. We ordered a serving each of the Steamed Buns (Banh Bao Kep – pork belly, pickled cucumber and spicy mayonnaise), Kevin then had Cauliflower Soup and I had Rice Co’m Sesame Chicken, green mango and coleslaw and Kevin the Bahn Mi – fresh brioche, pulled pork, caramelised onion (it looked just like a hamburger). The food again was delicious. The girls had Potato – Khoai Tay potato salad with soft boiled egg, black olives and green beans. They also had the Stuffed Advocado – Bo nhoi shrimp, fresh Lima beans and coriander. We were all happy with our dishes and ours was only VND $360k or A$22. We were finished by 7pm and so walked back through the dinner crowd to retrieve our bikes and head home. Kevin had forgotten his light and so I had to drive slow so he could follow.
