Up early again and walking around the Lake. After breakfast we decide to go to President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum where Uncle Ho is laid out for all to view. We caught a taxi and joined the long line to file past his body. No cameras, phones or water allowed. Kevin had to make sure his shoulders and knees were covered. The line was amazingly long. Kevin said last time he came it was many kilometer’s longer. You had to move at a certain pace or the guards spoke to you to hurry up. After viewing the body we wondered around viewing the Presidential Palace, fishpond, pagoda, orchard, cars, house on stilts, then the HO Chi Minh Museum. We decided to walk back to the hotel and this took an hour. We passed the coffin making street and a funeral parade was just leaving. We had to dodge among the mourners to get past. Kevin stopped to get a fruit shake from a street stall. After lunch I watched a movie and Kevin went out for a stroll as the hotel internet was playing up. We headed out for tea and went to a street beer stall where we sat on miniature stools and drank the local beer for VND$5k. We sat chatting to other backpacker tourists for half an hour before heading to Foodshop 45 an Indian Restaurant for tea. We ordered Chicken Korma and Beef Korma. Both were very delicious. Cost VND$360k which is about A$24.
