Day 127 - 29th August 2014 Winery Tour

AUSTRALIA | Sunday, 31 August 2014 | Views [384]

Day 127 29th August 2014 Friday. Wet miserable day. Went into town early to buy a singlet as it is getting colder. Called in at Reject Shop to pick up a couple of storage boxes. Jerry from Cellar d’Or picked me up at 9.30 for my wine tour. We collected 10 people for the winery tour. We went to 5 wineries – Tassell, Treeton, Churchview, Fermoy (which included olive oil tasting) and Wine Pantry. The wines of the region are very light and don’t carry the depth of SA wines. Was a little disappointed but enjoyed the day. We stopped at Gwaramup Brewing Coy for a platter lunch and a beer tasting. We also called in at the Margaret River Chocolate factory that had free button samples. Well you can imagine, people lining up for seconds. We also called into the Margaret Rive Dairy coy for cheese and yogurt  tasting. I was dropped off back at the caravan park at 5.30. It had been a full and enjoyable day.
