Day 104 - 6th August 2014 Garfish Heaven

Day 104 6th August 2014 Wednesday. Did a load of washing and updated photos and blog while Kevin went for a walk. Rang Nicole at Crusader to get details of repair shop in Geraldton. Told her about installing the lock and she said to get them to look at door alignment.  Mum and dad went for a drive. Got a call from Val and Dave – gold detecting people from Mannum and arranged to catch up. Mum and dad headed to beach to try fishing for whiting. Kevin decided to spend the avo by the pool. Met up with Val and Dave at 2pm and they demonstrated the detector along the beach. Found lots of can tabs. With all the gear on it may be too heavy for my shoulder to cope with. Will investigate once back in Adelaide. Dad had driven past while we were on the beach and he headed to the third jetty as there were boats docked at the others. This jetty is for launching smaller boats. Once I had spent time with Val and Dave I headed to the jetty to fish for garfish again. We had a very successful avo catching approx. 45 fish. We gave majority away to people who came up and talked with us. A lady going out in a dingy told us that we were not allowed to fish here. We hadn’t seen a sign telling us this so we were not moving until told officially. Today I helped dad by scaling the fish. My new experience for the trip. I will then look at moving on to filleting them!!
