Day 96 29th July 2014 Tuesday. Decided to call Camec re my broken door lock. They gave me a big run around and I had to ring Crusader in Melbourne. Stella helped me out but I had to make many calls to finally get it organised to have the replacement lock sent to Denham. Must say Crusader were not overly helpful and wanted to pass the buck. Again, dad was having trouble with the car fridge so we drove to Maud Landing to use the generator and recharge the batteries. We both threw a line in next to the palings on the right side as the water was flowing right to left. I caught 3 large silver trevally and dad got 6. I lost my rig 3 times and ran out of star sinkers. I think it must be because my knots were not tight enough. We headed back late morning and I got dad to give me a lesson in tying the knots again. After lunch Kevin, dad and I we went for a snorkel in Bills Bay. Again lots of colourful fish and coral. The water was colder today so we only stayed in for 30min. Went back to van and got our rods and headed back to Mauds Landing at 3.30pm. There were people in our spot who were there in the morning and they hadn’t caught any fish. The wind was now left to right so I went on the left side of the pilings and got one with my first cast. A nice big 36cm trevally. Well I ended up with 5 with the biggest 42cm and dad got at least 8 and Kevin 1. We gave them all away to others who were fishing and hadn’t caught anything. We fished until 5pm. It was such fun. Of course we had fish for tea. I gave away the parrotfish fillets to a neighbour. Played cards.
