Day 44 - 6th June 2014 To Fitzroy Crossing

Day 44 – 6th June 2014 Friday. Left Mary Pool at 8.15am and arrived at Fitzroy Crossing Lodge at 10.30 and were able to select our own sites. Mum and I walked around to decide where we could get some shade and some grass. Set up and had lunch. Headed to Information Centre in avo and had a drive around town. Very aboriginal. Black fella’s sitting under trees in the shade everywhere. A large portion appeared to be younger teenagers. New housing is quite impressive and looks good – made of colourbond all over. Believe this is for government workers, police, teachers, nurses etc. Kevin even found a Port Power Guernsey and he had to have it. Don’t think he will be wearing it until we get to cooler weather though as it is very thick. After hitting the IGA and just buying the essentials we headed back. A chap came over to introduce himself from a Range Rover / Discovery Club in Adelaide. There are a group of 9 at the park who have just done the Gibb River Road. He invited us as fellow Discovery owners for happy hour. Was an enjoyable time chatting about what they have been doing and the purpose of the club. Will investigate joining on returning to Adelaide.
