Awoke from my slumber feeling well rested. I awoke to a beautiful view of the beach and the warmth of the glowing sun. After a delicious breakfast overlooking the glistening pool we headed down to the beach to scope out the action. The beach and the area in general were eerily quiet. Kristy and I can't quite work out why it's so quiet here but we can't help but wonder if people have decided to head home or move on following the tsunami warning. Either way it is still a lovely place with a magnificent beach. I had a little paddle and the water felt like a warm bath. We also stumbled across the Manathai hotel where Kylie and Aiden are staying. We were going to pay them a visit but they were still fast asleep. We did a little shopping for water and nearly died from heat exhaustion in the meantime! It was sweltering and my clothes were soaked with sweat, gross! A quick change into bathers and a dip in the pool soon solved that problem! It rained heavily this afternoon and I heard the loudest crack of lightening I have ever heard. It scared the pants off me and the hotel staff. Due to the rain we spent some time in our room and using the spa before heading to Patong. I was surprised at how quiet Patong was too, Bangla Rd just didn't have the same energy and I was disappointed. Patong was pretty I uneventful and after dinner we headed home in a tuk tuk. The highlight of the day was when I was in this particular tuk tuk belting out Baby by Justin Beiber along with the booming speakers. We stopped in the tuk tuk and there next to me at the traffic lights is an entire Thai family with their windows down. First, an awkward glance. Second, a giggle. Third, the family join in and wave goodbye. Hilarious yet embarrassing! The tuk tuk driver enjoyed my theatricals so much that he wants to drive us home tomorrow too! Now we are both tucked up in bed and ready for a good sleep! Night x
