Ayara Hilltops, Thailand

AUSTRALIA | Sunday, 15 April 2012 | Views [613]

We finally arrived in Thailand, yay! Our flight from Singapore was interesting. We waited a long time to take off and while waiting passengers grew concerned with the amount of smoke streaming into the plane. I was ready to evacuate! The plane finally took off and the smoke magically disappeared so I closed my eyes and tried my best to forget about my feeling of impending doom. We touched down safely and skipped through customs quickly. The humidity smacked us in the face as we walked out into the night. I was excited to use my bargaining skills to knock down the price of a taxi to take us to our calling beds. It seems my tired eyes and need for a hot shower had effected my ability to care about the best deal. We jumped in a taxi and headed for Ayara Hilltops. This hotel is amazing and safe from any giant waves that choose to roll our way! Our room is too high up the hill to walk and consequently we had a thrilling ride up a virtually vertical hill in a golf buggy-tuk tuk thing. We couldn't see the view from our room lastnight but we opened the curtains this morning and were pretty amazed! Our room is HUGE, complete with outdoor shower, stepping stones over a fishpond to enter the room, water fountain, terrace spa and more! Going to go and explore Surin today and maybe head to Patong. I will definately be going for a swim in the very inviting pool! Ciao for now, Charis xxoo

Ps- sorry for any mistakes but I'm writing this on my mobile ATM.
