We are in the final prep phase now...having silly conversations with each other, like how many pairs of underwear are you bringing, just so we can stoke each other's excitement. To get in the right turkish frame of mind I am reading 40 Rules of Love, a novel about Rumi and Sufism. Starting to feel that mystical tingley thing. Oh right, my new walking shoes are too tight so my feet went to sleep!
Seriously, this trip is the trip of a lifetime for all 3 of us. We are each coming to the trip from different perspectives with different expectations and headsets. One certainty though is as we age, it gets harder to do these adventures, but dammit WE ARE COMMITTED TO HAVING FUN on this one! It is so intriguing to contemplate the infinite permutations each experience brings and trying to keep open to possibilities......any and all of them.
We travel well together.....just look at us on New Year's Eve of Y2K!
