Today we were off to the Great Homer Street market - a huge affair in Liverpool. After we had our fill we went down to the Pierhead to buy our tickets for a cruise on the Mersey. Prior to the cruise, we had a look at an art exhibition in the Liver Building - it was a bit avant garde, with a centrepiece of a mound of shredded paper!! To each his own.
The cruise was really interesting, up and down the river, although it was pretty crowded. Mind you, we managed to get seats, so were pretty comfortable. The cruise took about an hour and, when we returned to the Pierhead we decided to walk down to Mathew Street, where they were setting up for a two-day Beatles festival. Liverpool was a-buzzing with all sorts of people - a surprisingly large numbe of what could be called Senior Beatles fans! Not really surprising, as they would all have been teenagers in the early 60s. One quirky object we came across was a pink fur car - yes, a bright pink fur covered car (see photo). It belonged to a nightclub called, oddly enough(!), Pink and was parked outside in the street. Naturally, I wore a matching top for the photo!
In the evening, our last with Allan and Dot, some of the family joined us - we're not looking forward to saying goodbye tomorrow, as you can imagine.
