27 June, Friday

UNITED KINGDOM | Friday, 27 June 2008 | Views [197]

Today was wet again (we're getting used to it!!) but not enough to keep us indoors.

We had a wander around Neston, Chris's local market town and then drove to Greasby, on the Wirral Peninsula (Cheshire) to visit John, an old Police colleague of Ron's, and his wife Angela. We had last seen them in about 1965 (not long after that, John left the Police Force for a few years, rejoining in 1973).

Once again, we were made very welcome - we could really get used to this treatment! We found lots to talk about over a delicious lunch, and then afterwards with a cup of tea, after which we returned to Chris's.
