My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Cuba | Saturday, December 15, 2012 | 5 photos
My love for photographs started when I was young. I used to collect snippets of beautiful places and people from magazines. I am the type who can stare at world maps, and find myself anticipating the next time I am on the move - let it be boarding a plane, driving a car, getting on a bike or on foot.
At 17, I moved to the other side of the world to Costa Rica and started "clicking". I found so much joy looking at the outcome of photography. I believe that the world does indeed have corners. Corners and pockets waiting to be explored.
I am pursuing my bachelors degree in Economics. Where I come from, photography is not a common art. However, I am determined that one day I will try to reach out to the public via my travel photographs, let it be to educate, create awareness or simply entertain people on cultural, ethical and other values. Apart from learning the technical skills, I would use this scholarship to learn on discipline and life of a professional photographer. At the same time, I am confident that although I have no formal education on photography,I have sufficient skills and knowledge to contribute in order to make this photography scholarship reflect my personal work.
