Merry Christmas!!
Finally
we spent a day in Hong Kong, rather then just sleeping there!! We
walked part way to Victoria Peak before deciding that it was rather
steep and did the rest of the trip in a taxi. We wanted to take the
Peak Tram (a tram which travels at such a steep gradient that the
buildings look like they are on a 45 degree angle) but it was so busy
with tourists and we didnt want to wait for hours.
Victoria Peak
gave us some great views of the city and filled in a few hours. We then
caught the bus back to the city and went in search of the markets,
which successfully filled in a few more hours! We didn't get to do even
half of the things we wanted to because we just didnt have enough time,
but it gives us a good excuse to go back :-) Hong Kong was great
because, unlike Singapore, you didn't need to open your wallet a
thousand times a day! .
It was an early start the next day to get
to the airport. We checked in our bags at the train station in the
city to be told that our flight was delayed by 8 hours (because of snow
in Canada!!). It was ok though because it meant more time for shopping.
By the time we got to the airport it was early evening. We flew Air
Canada for our 11 hour uneventful journey to our final destination...
