The adventures of the Mel

In a nutshell

CANADA | Monday, 10 March 2008 | Views [789] | Comments [2]

Well, here I am at the Calgary airport, about to bid Canada farewell. I can’t believe that I’ve been here for two months, and that I’m leaving. I must admit I’m looking forward to the weather change!

I’ve decided to create a top and bottom ten of Canada to help summarise my time here

Top ten:

  1. Vancouver and the surrounding area. Homey and fun
  1. Plethora of awesome t-shirts (see shirt top ten)
  1. How much they hate Americans
  1. Being able to listen to my music on the radio
  1. Not being able to think of ten things to dislike
  1. Hot guys loving the Australian accent
  1. Quebec City
  1. Cheap cocktail prices
  1. Beautiful scenery, especially Banff area
  1. The eternally friendly Canadians.

Bottom five:

  1. The light switches are back to front
  1. Customs officials are certain that you are here to rout the system
  1. Wind chill
  1. Not including taxes in prices – just tell me what it’s worth!
  1. The jerk at Vancouver Central HI hostel. You suck.

Shirt top ten.

  1. Polar bear in storm shirt (white with eyes and nose of bear)
  1. Emo Care Bear shirt
  1. Toddler shirt ‘Ipood’
  1. Picture of a credit card belonging to ‘Spoilt Brat’, from ‘Bank of Dad’, expiry data ‘Never’.
  1.  ‘Don’t steal. The government doesn’t like competition’
  1.  ‘Bu** Sh**’
  1. ‘Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder.’
  1. The Cheat/Strong Bad shirts
  1. The Bang-it-on shirt store (plethora of designs too numerous to mention)
  1. My ‘Talk nerdy to me’ shirt

Enjoy work suckers. I’m off to Meh-hi-co! Yeeehaa!!

Thanks Mel for the tour of Canada and your wacky stories. I am looking forward to warmer photos and I'm glad you haven't turned into an icicle!

Gerard.

I had forgotten about the light switches, weren't the taps back to front too? We have both loved reading your travels, have fun in Mexico!
