Each Sunday I make an effort to attend a cell group. The group is lead in Khmer but they do make an effort to include me and I often have a whispering voice placed beside me quietly translating what is being said. Each week we have a collection and the money from this is saved up for a fun social.
Last Sunday we had our group social. We went out for soup. I never thought living in a hot country I’ld eat so much soup but it’s actually really nice. There were 18 of us altogether and we speed away to the restaurant on a number of rather packed motos. Then we sat around the table and the cooking began.
After finishing off all the soup we could possibly eat we headed out towards the riverside to continue our socialising. I learnt that many Cambodians take their shoes off before going onto the grass – hehe I guess they really want to look after their grass.
It was a great night of fellowship. That’s what it’s all about – knowing God more and getting to know each other. We are in this together and it’s a privilege to be able to share and have fun with these beautiful people.
