I remember during my days in Wee Waa, when Karen and I were driving, we would sometimes play the game of guessing how many kangaroos we would see between town and home. This would help keep us stay alert so that we wouldn’t hit any.
Lately I’ve been reminded of this game as each morning I walk along to church and I see Buddhist Monks. I’ll see at least two (sometimes up to seven) men dressed in orange sheet and armed with umbrellas on my short 10 minute walk. 95% of Cambodians are Buddhists – the religion has a huge grip on this nation. The monks walk along taking collections and saying prayers over people. At least the regular sightings always prompt me to pray for this country. There is a huge need for Jesus here. He is the freedom, the hope, the love that Cambodia and the world needs.
