This week marks my second week doing Khmer study. I’m studying at the Institute of Foreign Languages, at a University not far from one of the places I teacher. It is a whole new language – like stepping into another world – the phonetics are different, the grammar is different, the writing is way different. I am learning so much….ok so most of it is going over my head at the moment, but in time it should make more sense.
As my teacher says, “Step by step.” So here I go, step my step, reviewing class work, practising my writing and just doing what I can. Learning is a process….it doesn’t happen overnight.
