There are tons of these Lisu vendors set up all along the banks of the lake in town. Yes, I did buy a lot of stuff from them...so colourful and so cheap...and they really pull the guilt trip on you ~ 'you buy so I can eat..?????' Sheesh.

There are tons of these Lisu vendors set up all along the banks of the lake in town. Yes, I did buy a lot of stuff from them...so colourful and so cheap...and they really pull the guilt trip on you ~ 'you buy so I can eat..?????' Sheesh.

The woman of the house, in the first village we stayed in on the trek. She was definately in charge...she carried a little whipping stick, and the dogs, cats, pigs ~ they all knew she was the boss, because she wasn't afraid to use it!!

Two cats in the Karen hut we stayed at, on the first night of my trek. They are allowed into the 'kitchen' area...dogs are not. Here, they're gloating back at the dogs, hovering in the doorways.
