Lolo's Travels

China ~ Datong & Pingyao (#8b)

A street within the ancient city of Pingyao ~ the wall is possibly the last remaining intact city wall in all of China, and the warren-like maze of alleys and avenues inside has remained unchanged since the Ming Dynasty. The place is absolutely swarming with Chinese tourists.

Goodday Lolo

Enjoyed your photo ensay covering PingYao. I had just returned from Beijing [ to Melbourne, Australia ] and am now planning another short trip to China mid March 2007, using BeiJing as a base. I intend doing an overnight trip to TianJin, but my Canadian expat friend, now working & residing in Beijing suggested I visit PingYao instead. Could you recommend a PingYao hotel for an overnight stay ...! or perhaps just an overnight trip will do .. ! Look forward to hear from you. With regards. Bernard Low [ Melbourne ].
