    It really is the scariest shopfront ever. Only in China. Views[611] There is a giant panda research centre just outside of Chengdu, which Katy and I visited one morning, just in time for feeding! They look like little men in panda costumes to me. Views[509] MMMMMMmmmmmmm. Bamboo....! Views[547] More bamboo munching pandas. Views[513] All over the place, you can find people sitting by the side of the road, peeling fresh water chestnuts and selling them for Y2 or Y3 a bagful. They are about a million times sweeter and juicier than the canned variety...I will never be able to add 'our' water chestnuts to a stirfry again! Views[626]
     
    On the streets of Chengdu, some serious flirtation was the order of the day between these two. So funny to watch. Views[356] Views[430] Views[443] Views[428] Views[478]

    More Sichuan opera. Views[382] While in Chengdu, Katy and I took in a Sichuan opera performance, which was incredible. Lots of flowy ribbons and masks and VERY dramatic. Views[587] Me with a little wee red panda! They made me wear plastic gloves and I got to feed him apples to keep him happy. So cute! Views[461] Me and the little wee red panda again!     Me. Really happy to be in Pingyao, apparently! Views[500] Our cyclo driver ~ he helped us get around the Y200 fee to climb up and walk around the city wall by taking us to a secret stairwell.     the rooftop of beijing west train station. the building looks like it could be an airport, or a fancy temple. stunning. Views[370] glowy, cool chinese lanterns. they are everywhere. Views[368] the lights on these towers change colours ~ sometimes all red, sometimes all blue...sometimes flashing....you get the idea. Views[312] all the stairways throughout most of china have these ramps, either off to one side, or right up the middle of the stairway....so you can roll your bike or suitcase (or whatever) right on up! Views[342] A place that ended up with more of my money than i'd intended...one of the many markets Caitlin took me to in Beijing! Views[325]

    Views[543] All the kids and babies in China wear these gross split bum pants, to facilitate..um...bodily functions...and to save on diapers, i guess. Views[2646] M.S.G. arghh, my stomach lining!     Me at CKS Intl. Airport, very bored. I was there from about 12midnight until my flight to Singapore, about 7am. Ha ha, and also ~ you can see up my nose! (but I still like this pic....)
