The Hunter Valley - Wine Tasting

AUSTRALIA | Sunday, 23 December 2007 | Views [226]

Set off today driving through the Hunter Valley. Absolutely gorgeous scenery with rolling green hills, quaint farm houses and fantastic wildlife.

We went wine tasting at a few of the vineyards. I was feeling quite nervous about this as I hadn't been wine tasting before and had visions of a room full of toffs standing round delicately spitting wine into a silver plated bucket. It was actually nothing like that. The wineries were really nice places with relaxed atmospheres. The majority of the staff were really friendly (I think there was one pretentious one who nearly choked on his chardonnay when I told him I preferred Jacob's Creek, aparently, we were in the totally wrong region) but overall, it was a really worthwhile day out.

On the way back, I seen a kangaroo for the first time, which I was absolutely thrilled about. My aunt and uncle couldn't quite grasp how excited I was about this but humoured me and stopped so I could take a photo.
