Salzburg

Caught the train from Mayrhofen to Salzburg....nice sunny trip taking about 2 ish hours. Am definately not a fan of the fact that you can smoke anywhere...including train carriages! Anyways...spent the first day wondering around the lovely gardens and riverside of Salzburg.

My second day I ventured to Hellbrun - the trick water palace - which was well worth it. Was particularly entertaining watching this lady in a white top continually get sprayed by the water...also managed to get quite drenched myself, but was nice and sunny so I dried off easily.

Caught up with Heimo for drinks at a posh hotel...with a spectacular view of the entire city, then headed out for a traditional weiner schnitzel dinner...still think maybe the Earl's are better, bigger at least. Then went out the the 'Red Bull' head office/centre thing....never knew it was an Austrian invention. Anyways it was crazy...all glass, huge aircraft hangar, specially designed for events.

The next day I took a brief trip up to the fortress and then spent the rest of the day in the Lakes district - absolutely beautiful....mountains all around and crystal clear water! Had fun injuring myself on this slide thing...like a massive slippery dip, but u go down it sitting on like a skateboard?!?! good times anyways.
