Double overhead sets were
rolling through at what the locals call their secret spot in Kalbarri. Better known on the map as Jake's point, this
spot reels in lefts off the point; big steep takeoffs deep infront of the rocks
on the edge of the headland, with a fast drop, and then into a barreling
pit. It was a beautiful sight, with
offshores steadily blowing. The picture
we've captured shows a smaller wave with a local screaming down the
shoulder. When the sets came through,
there were 4 to 5 good solid double overhead waves, and only 4 guys out having
a blast.
In typical form for the
West Coast here, the early day is beautiful, off shore winds, and sunny hot
weather. The winds tend to kick in
around 11 or 12 and then just pick up heavily blowing onshore all day.
The sunset was amazing -
from oranges and reds, to deep purples and maroons, the sky was on fire. A great end to the day.
