Bondi
Beach is one of the most fun places to hang out and just people watch, and “sun
bake” as they call it in Australia (quite appropriately so on the hot beaches
here). The cafes here line the main
beach road, and there’s an amazing ocean pool near the surf lifesaving club on
the far south end of the beach that’s a great treat. The water is frigid for this time of the
year, unseasonably cold at 17 degrees celsius.
Can’t surf without a “steamer” (Australian for wetsuit). Spending the day at the beach in Bondi
brought back all kinds of fun memories of time spent in this great town.
One
thing that really impresses us is how clean the beaches are. The sand is free of seaweed and trash, in
fact, you’d be hard pressed to find any trash around on the streets or
beaches. The water is an amazing color
blue and crystal clear. Australia in
general, does a fabulous job of maintaining their precious resource, their
coastline.
A special treat this evening was meeting up with
my former boss, and life long mentor Liz.
She’s set up a successful consulting/coaching practice, and is always so
on top of all the new research and techniques out there. We even talked about bridging coaching with
meditative practices and yoga... what a healthy approach! After an amazing dinner, we set up a few
features for her skype account so we can talk when we finally have a wireless
connection
