Woke up before sunrise and took advantage of the breeze to squeeze in a short run.
Grabbed a coffee at this cute little beach shed cafe - cool beans en route to the dive shop & I was set.
I waited two hours for my dive instructor to arrive. He came, gave me my final exam paper to complete & left again. No instruction, no video, no review. Not off to the best start... He came back at 1 and we got sized up for our gear and headed to the jetty for our shallow water training.
Using the reg for the first time was awesome as was the overall sensation of being able to breathe underwater! There was one other couple doing their training with me, Francesca & Michael from New York. We had a nice little learning trio.
Finished up with our skills around 5 & then I headed to the slip for sunset with some new friends from my hostel. After a swim we headed to this little place recommended by a couple I met in Hopkins - Maggie's- where we ate some tasty lobster ceviche & the standard chicken, beans & rice. We also had done amazing fresh watermelon juice.
I of course had the obligatory post dinner drink (or three) at the reggae bar and caught up with Marc & Eliska.
