Arriving early in San Cristobal grateful to be off that horrendous bus we found nobody was quite awake yet at our hostel. It was before 8am & well it's Mexico- not much happens before 9.30 so we were at least able to dump our bags & wander around town.
Fortunately it wasn't too long before we found an open cafe which turned out to have half decent coffee! For the win! San Cristobal was already shaping up to be my favourite place in Mexico and it really did just get better & better!
Feeling human again (post caffeine & shower) we walked around the city, checking out the sights & markets. Along the way we decided to sign up for jewelry school for the day on Tuesday with a local jeweler - Arturo.
There's a great little local cinema* here attached to a vegetarian cafe & language school where we had some pre-dinner down time & watched the Frida Kahlo movie.
We then hit up a local wine bar, sampled some Mexican vino tinto, are way too much free popcorn & then had dinner at a Lebanese restaurant.
By that time we were pretty much wrecked!
*by cinema what I mean is room with projector & a DVD but it was less than $2 fir the ticket & really cute!
