Day 16 - La Copa Mundial

MEXICO | Friday, 13 June 2014 | Views [413]

It's been another full on week at Spanish School but I think we've turned a corner & hopefully know enough about verb conjugation & periphrastics to be half understood!

Tomorrow is our last day of class so we had a farewell lunch with some of our favourite companeros de clase and watched the kick off of La Copa Mundial at a bar in Condesa. It was a great afternoon & nice way to spend time with people we would otherwise have never met. I say that only because the three lovely gentlemen we lunched with are all either in or training for the priesthood in the Catholic Church! it was a fascinating insight into a world I really don't know much about & we really enjoyed their company (& some tasty food).

Despite feeling frustrated & muy estupida in class, I have enjoyed the experience!

After class tomorrow we are headed to watch Australia play their first match in La Copa Mundial & Mexico first plays at 10am so it will be a big day here! Saturday we have an early start to head to Tepotzlan to stay at the Embassy holiday house for the weekend- such a hard life we are living eh? Monday we plan to get a few things sorted before flying to Cuba on Tuesday!
