Day 4 - More of Morelia

MEXICO | Sunday, 1 June 2014 | Views [268]

Today's focus was more of Morelia - lots of walking & eating & much less drinking!

Our Spanglish is definitely getting better as we managed to order both lunch & dinner with relative ease! it's the small wins we are celebrating on

Morelia is a great city to wander around, particularly if you take the time to admire the architecture & street art. The modern art gallery is well worth a visit as is the artisan craft market where we discovered some beautiful local pottery.

Every Saturday night here the Cathedral in the Centro is lit up with Fireworks. It's a community highlight we were keen to see although as luck turns out we missed it by 10 minutes or so by the time we finished dinner! it still looks nice lit up as normal so we made a second trip to the Mercardo le Dulches, got so e local treats & sat in the courtyard for our own light show.

In other exciting news our hostel owners have now got a bull terrier puppy to keep their sheepdog company. It's nice to have some canine friends as it's pretty quiet here after last night's frivolities. The sheepdog is actually sitting with me watching me write this entry :)

Back to Mexico City tomorrow & then time to work out the next steps - Cuba or Oaxaca?

Buenos noches :)
