Koycegiz

We got into Koycegiz around 6pm and the guidebook was right in saying theres not alot happening there. Most of the crew was goin on the Blue Cruise that night and leaving ont eh next Fez bus at 9 in the morning.

My cold was really bad at this stage, I could barely keep my eyes open and my nose was constantly running, so I opted out of the cruise although it sounded like fun (mud baths and all!) and went to bed early. Dinner was good though, I went out with Heidi, Dean and Roz (to become the Oludeniz medical posse) and also Dee. Had a really yummy mezze place of cold starter salads. #

Saturday 29th April The bus left at 9am this morning for Fethiye with stops at Saklikent Gorge and Oludeniz. First up we were taken to a carpet place which would have been really annoying if there hadn’t been such good demonstrations on carpet making and silk making (they soak silk worm cocoons and spin from them – amazing!) From there we went to Saklikent Gorge for lunch and tubing. After having missed out on the cruise the night before I decided to go tubing (this meant braving the Very icy water). We were given wetsuits and tubes and went down the river, rapids and all. It was really shallow but also really fast moving. It was all I could do to actually stand in the river without being washed down. It was heaps of fun though. At one point we stopped to play in the mud (literally. It was cool, really soft, squidgy mud. Of course it ended in an all out brawl – we were covered head to toe (hair included) and then we had to wash off in the icy, fast flowing river which was not fun at all.
