Hey kidlets - sorry for the long hiatus... we met some butterflies and their babies, and some snakes, we saw dolphins, turltes and many many buses. We walked long and far and now we are home cause our hats our hanging and our shoes are on the front mat of our new little house in Puerto Jimenes once again.
To condense things into a palatable read lets do it like this...Gabriel and I were the only patrons in a restaurant in Rivas, Nicaragua
where we ate by candlelight and were serenaded by our chef, a violinist from the
Nicaraguan Symphonic orchestra, as the el Niño
rains slowly flooded the yard. One night in Granada, when our bellies were full Gabriel gave his left over pizza to two
street kids who followed us, they would have
been around Gabriels age. Gabriel jumped of a huge waterfall in Uvita, over 20 metres high, I couldn´t watch, and made two twelve year old friends and attended his first full moon party. I painted a huge mural map of the area for the Tucan Hotel so we stayed in luxury for a week free of charge. I watched the sun set so beautifully over the pacific that it almost made me cry. We made freinds with a Jewish argentinian, gave four dollars to a stranded Canadian who reminded us so much of Brooke, got stuck at the border for four hours during a blackout and resulting mini riot, I very nearly kicked a loudmouth and repugnant American tourist overboard between Montezuma and Jaco, but was beaten to the job by Gabriel who said in a disgusted voice to her - I do speak English you know and generally had our eyes opened just a little further and hopefully our brains follow suit.
Now we are back in the bosum of Jimenz and renting our own little house which feels fantastic, the only unfortunate addition is the two dogs we care for - Flaca (skinny girl) is a lovely tan coloured mongrel with a terrible violent streak who attacks all other dogs from 50 paces. Teddy her eight month old counterpart is by far the dumbest dog I have ever met and I am truly amazed that he has not yet been hit my a car. Osa is yet to find us agian but I live in hope as she may teach these two some manners.
Otehrwise Gabriel and I are settling back into our routine here, with Gabriel at school again and me doing my university studies...the weather is still magical here even though we are in the depths of winter, this season the rains haven´t yet arrived. Hope it´s not global warming but it probably is, but at least we´re all getting tans, hard to find the silver lining on that one...ne´rtheless.
Hope everyone is doing super well and missing us terribly as we are missing you...anywho off to the beach - wish you were here..besos
