Kate and mi hermana the delightful Barbara

Sooo it takes Gabriel and I about 25 mins to walk to town from our new house. Add to that the fact that we have the most incredible panoramic view from our little lounge room and cable television and you might be partially correct in thinking that we never leave the house. Luckily our respective tolerance for spending numerous consecutive days together with no other company excluding the geckoes and butterflies eventually wanes and leave we must...and so the long walk to town. The roads here are in a perpetual state of disrepair due to the rain. The locals joke about when the roads might get tar...which will likely be never, as the only service they get is from the odd rich business man who wants the road to his luxury hotel not to be so deadly that it kills his patrons before they have an opportunity to part with their cash.

A plane crashed here this week, nothing spectacular, it made it to the runway , but then something went wrong and it carrened off into the long grass. In a small town it's pretty exciting when well anything happens really and everybody proceeded to crowd around and walk all over the little plane shouting instructions about how to remove it from said grass. Surprisingly something must have worked because it has indeed gone.

The festival San Juan which has lasted for two weeks has finally been packed up and moved on. The entirity of it was three childrens merry go round rides, several open air bars, two dancing girls and the ever popular daily bull catching events. I do beleive it´s the biggest social event they see here each year.

There are two main beers here in Costa Rica, one is called Imperial, which is I'd say is our Tooheys, the other is Pilsen and there's your VB, for those who know me well, I am quite happy to drink either. Largely due to this I've been busting some bootlicious moves at the disco recently. As in Australia I am becoming quite well known for my outrageous yet suave style. I have also come to realise that CR is where I originally perfected my self defence karate dance moves, imperitive for any young lady travelling in the central or South Americas. Chop chop

So stay tuned people for the adventures are still coming and I miss youse all and am starved of that laid back dry aussie accent and wit - least I think it´s wit....

Osa sends her love
