All over the world

Dona Angelina Salas was Gabriels great grandmother on his grandmothers side, and a highly regarded woman in Puerto Jimenez. She had 12 children and 88 grandchildren and I don't think anyone had bothered to count the great grandchildren of which Gabriel is one. She passed away on Monday morning at 3am with her daughters around her. The funeral was both beautiful and sad, lasting all day long. It's hard to know your place amongst other peoples grief, yet I have never felt more welcome here or such a part of the family. Gabriel and I feel very lucky to have had a little time with Abuelita and although she was in a lot of pain in her last days, she was always quick with a smile and surrounded by her family.
