The ride from Tallahassee to here in Defuniak Springs was on US Route 90. It's the best road I've been on so far on this trip. There has been a pedestrian/bicycle lane the whole way from Tallahassee so far. This road runs all the way to San Antonio. I may follow it if it keeps the bike lane. It is away from the interstate and runs through small towns and farms. So far it has been nice, but the weather started turning yesterday. The forecast for this whole region for the next few days is severe storms and wind, with hail and maybe tornadoes. So I guess that means I need to take a day off. I'm staying at a nice little boutique type hotel here in Defuniak. I just ate a massive breakfast so I'm pretty happy I picked here for my first day off. It may turn into two days if the big storm doesn't pass fast enough. Hopefully I can get back on the road, I'd like to get to New Orleans. Everywhere I stop, people say that they see touring bicyclists all the time on this route. According to them, this is a popular route. I guess I picked the right road.
