The little adventures of Jo! Travel with me on my overdue gap year around the world :)

I'm in San Francisco!

An interesting start to say the least - thanks to a few unexpected nuances. Despite the hurdles, I'm here! :)

I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of SF yet. The roads, trams/trolleys/cable cars, hoards of tourists confuse me. It took quite a while before to realize that the roads look messy because people drive on the right. I still haven't figured out when to cross as a pedestrian without any lights to indicate what to do. I got slightly lost in my first few hours due to wanting to use public transport to get to my hostel but with the kind help of an array of random strangers - a well-to-do woman and her niece, a guy begging for a girlfriend on the street and some policemen and cadets, I made it :)

I did enjoy some tourist-y delights like seeing Golden Gate bridge while getting to Fort Mason, watching the sunset at Fisherman's wharf, hearing the sea lions whinge/roar (they are really loud!) and sitting down for a warm clam chowder in a yummy sourdough bowl. Although the walk up
Lombard was hard and my legs are killing me, I like SF enough.

Let's see how tomorrow goes :) Especially aftercare enough early night in.

(I'm already dozing off! :-o)
