    Homeless, near Pashupatinath temple: I had been to Pashupatinath temple two times during my short stay in Kathmandu. The Hindu temple, situated on both sides of the Bagmati river, is a metaphor for the duality of life & death, creation & destruction. On both occasions I passed by this mysterious homeless person in the same place facing the wall, of unknown gender and age. This person for me is a constant reminder of the plight of the marginalised and displaced in society. by: jefffen Views[786] Sadhu, Pashupatinath temple: Sadhus are holy men in Nepal, who have vowed to give up material attachments and have chosen to live a life on the edges of society in order to focus on their own spiritual practice, surviving on donations from people. by: jefffen Views[699] Old Nepalese Woman, Kathmandu – basked in the warm morning glow, my attention was drawn to an old woman dressed in traditional Nepalese clothes and jewellery. There is wisdom in her eyes and the lines etched by years of experience. Beauty knows no age. by: jefffen Views[1235] Streets of Thamel, Kathmandu - It has never ceased to astound me the strength of the human will and I experienced this first hand in Nepal trekking where I had the fortune of being assisted by porters who would sometimes carry baggage double their body weight over difficult terrain. Riding in a rickshaw, speeding through busy Kathmandu streets, by pure luck, I managed to photograph this man who seemed to possess superhuman strength, dwarfed by the giant lounge he was carrying on his back. by: jefffen Views[1697] Durbar Square Kathmandu: One of the highlights of my visit to Kathmandu was the UNESCO heritage-listed palaces and temples, of which Durbar Square is the most renowned.
