USA - Part 1

USA | Friday, 11 April 2008 | Views [591]

Well we arrived in Detroit on the 6th crossing the boarder at Windsor, Canada. We had a bit of questioning at the customs department but got through. We then walked around Detroit for a few minutes trying to find a hire car place. BAD MOVE. This place is SO shocking. There are bums EVERYWHERE the city is dirty and scary even at daytime. We walked to the General Motors highrise so Jamie could look at what cars were on display out the front. Low and behold there is an Holden SS badged as a Pontiac out the front. So we took a photo and caught the bus to Detroit airport.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! My god...never again!
There were so many bums on the bus. Some guy who was sitting near us was OFF his face on who knows what. Then there was some lady talking to this guy about this chick she is going to bash coz she slept with her man!

We ended up getting to the airport and hired a car. We got an upgrade to an Electric Blue Crysler PT Cruiser, it's such a sweet car.

We drove up to the Great Lakes which are huge fresh water lakes that seriously look like the ocean, they are that huge!
We saw one smaller lake that had frozen the water into, what looked like crystals, it was so beautiful. We are dissapointed it's not summer because we can see it being really nice then.

We have been driving alot as the country is bigger then we imagined. We are in South Dakota in a place called Deadwood and there is snow everywhere. It's meant to be the beginning of spring however 'Global Warming' has had a HUGE effect...not...there is snow throughout northern USA.

We hope to go to Mt Rushmore and Crazyhorse tomorrow, however the weather is still reported to have snow so we will be playing the casino slots at Deadwood!
