Well we headed to London on Saturday morning to meet up with Jamie’s cousin and her boyfriend.
We left JD(our car) at our friends place over night and headed into London. Jayne was at the markets shopping when we got in so we decided to go and have a look at Buckingham Palace again seeing as though it so pretty now with all the leaves falling off the trees. It's SO pretty!
We then went for a walk to find one of the Walkabout pubs (Australian Pub) to watch the footy. We walked past one and there was a huge line up out the front of people waiting to get in to see the game. So we moved on from there and walked around listening to cheers to find where the next pub with game on was. We called into this little pub that was PACKED with Poms and Auzzies, we stood at the door and watched the last 15mins. SOOOO SAD that we lost the dam game, we have been copping $hit for it. Jamie bet £20 with the boys at work that Oz would win, so there goes our lunch money for the week! NOT HAPPY.
We then met up with Jayne, Esh and the couple they were staying with at the pub and had a really nice time just talking about...what else, travelling.
We went to this Chinese restaurant to have some dinner and it was the WORST mistake ever. It was SUCH a rip off at £30 each, the food wasn’t that good, the beer was $hit and cost the most at £4.70 each!!!! OUTRAGE!
We hadn’t booked any accommodation and just winged it seeing if we could find something when we get into town.
Everywhere that was cheap was booked out and everywhere else was TOO expensive. We where really worried that we wouldn't find somewhere to sleep the night and we would be sleeping out on the streets. The couple we met through Jayne and Esh were SO nice and let us crash at their place the night on the floor, which we were SO grateful for.
The next morning we got up and spent 3-4 hours on train/bus just to get back to our car and then drive 3 hours back home to Manchester. It was a very long day, as you can imagine.
It was great seeing familiar faces, as we haven’t seen anyone from home for 5 months.
