The train and bus ride back to cusco from MP was to take around 4 hours so naturally there was only one way to pass the time..beers and a bottle of scotch..lachie had to pee in his watrerbottle on the way home to stop the building resentment of the bus at the constant need for him to stop the bus and urinate. The boys went to bed pretty early but i had an aussie girl that was staying there who i was good friends wih so i stayed out and partied at the bar with her (it was open mike night)..we chilled the next day, got some washing done, hung out in bed and bought some new bus tickets (as i lost the originals somehow)..From cusco to Ica (the town just next to huacahina(HC))we caught an amazingly comfortable bus and i slept for 15 of the 17 hour journey..HC is an amazing little city with a population of around 200..the whole town is based around an oasis in the middle of the desert..we booked into a cool little hostel and spent the remainder of the day by the pool an eating round town..that night we ahd beers around the campfire and met some nice girls..but appropriately we took it easy and settled in for another 12 hour sleep..
THe next day started as the previous ended and we spent the majority of the day around the pool and eating at the cafe..its good to be soaking up the sun again, something we are looking forwad to in the tropical columbian climate..we met up with foals and foaks (a couple of lads we travelled with at the begingin of the trip) whihc was good and that afternoon we went dune buggying and sand boarding..the buggy we took out was a legitimate off road racing vehicle with 2 seats in the back and 2 in the front..it was a wild few hours ripping around the sand dues, sand boarding and watchiung the sun set over the desert..we pleaded with the driver to give us a go but nothing (not even the suggestion o a small tip) would budge him..that night we had dinner with foaks and foals and again chilled out, one more sleep to get the energy back..which is important as tomrrow we are off to lima and we have a 5.30am flight on friday morning so we are planning just to spend the night at the loki bar in lima and then catch our flight to bogatar (columbia)without attemptin to sleep!! should be an interesting flight!
